DVSA Video: The Practical Test

What to expect on your driving test day.

The test day

When you attend your test you will need:

  • your theory test pass certificate (or confirmation) if you’re not exempt from taking the theory test
  • your driving licence
  • If you have an old-style paper licence instead of a photocard, you must also bring a valid passport.

Your examiner will test your eyesight so you must ensure that if you normally wear spectacles to drive that you have these with you.

Your test will be cancelled and you’ll lose your fee if you don’t have the right documents.
